SHAWN MENDES   Shawn Peter Raul Mendes or also known as Shawn Mendes  is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He w as born on August 8, 1998, in Toronto, Canada to Karen and Manuel Mendes. He and his younger sister, Aaliyah, grew up in Pickering, Ontario, a Toronto suburb, where he went to Pine Ridge Secondary School. When he was 14-year-old, he decided to show off his talents by uploading a video of himself singing Bieber’s “As Long as You Love Me” — acoustic style on vine app that hit 10,000 likes after he upload it.  Mendes is now something of a poster boy for how to become a superstar in the social media era and an example of how the music business now assimilates new artists. Charles Babbage Charles Babbage KH FRS was an English polymath. A mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer, Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer. He was born in Walworth, Surrey, on December 26, 1791. He was one of four children born to the banker Benjamin Babbage and Elizabeth Teape. He attended Trinity, Cambridge, in 1810 to study mathematics, graduated without honors from Peterhouse in 1814 and received an MA in 1817. In 1814 he married Georgiana Whitmore with whom he had eight children, only three of whom lived to adulthood. The couple made their home in London off Portland Place in 1815.  His wife, father, and two of his children died in 1827. In 1828 Babbage moved to 1 Dorset Street, Marylebone, which remained his home till his death in 1871.
